Need to cancel a cheque? It’s easy with Online Banking

With Online Banking, you can create or delete Stop Cheque requests on either a single cheque or a range of cheques. Please note that fees apply for this service.

Stop payment on a single cheque

After logging in to Online Banking:

  • From the Account Summary page, click on Account Services from the left-hand menu
  • Click on Stop Cheques.
  • Select Stop a single cheque.
  • Indicate the Chequing Account you want this applied to and specify the Reason for Creating Stop.
  • Enter the Cheque Date (if known), enter the name of the Payee (who you made the cheque out to), specify the Cheque Number (if known), enter the Amount and click Submit.

Stop payment on a range of cheques

After logging in to Online Banking and navigating to Stop Cheques as above:

  • Select Stop a range of cheques
  • Select the Chequing Account you want this applied to, and enter the first cheque number in Start of Range and the last cheque number in End of Range, then click Submit.

Please note that the stop payment is only valid for 6 months from the date of placement.

Canceling a Stop Cheque

You can view your cancelled cheques on the Stop Cheque display page. You can cancel the stop cheque request simply by clicking Delete beside the item. Please note the fee will still apply.
