Your Collabria credit card offers you 90 days of purchase protection on eligible purchases made with your Mastercard^® and double the manufacturer’s warranty (up to one year) on eligible purchases. Review the certificate of insurance for complete details of your coverage.

Purchase protection coverage

Purchase protection coverage is provided for most items purchased anywhere in the world. You’re insured for 90 days from the date of purchase in the event of loss, theft or damage when you use your Collabria credit card for payment.

Extended warranty insurance

Extended warranty coverage provides you with double the period of repair services otherwise provided by the original manufacturer’s warranty, to a maximum of one (1) additional year, on most new personal items purchased anywhere in the world when you use your Collabria card to purchase the item.

Making a claim

Making a claim for either purchase protection or extended warranty insurance follows the same process.

• Immediately after learning of a loss or an occurrence that may lead to a loss covered under the insurance policy and prior to proceeding with any action or repairs/replacements, you must notify the insurer by calling 1.855.255.4037.
• You will be issued a claim form, and, in the event of a damage claim, will be asked to obtain a written estimate of the cost to repair the insured item by a repair centre.
• A completed claim form containing the time, place, cause and amount of loss is required. You will also be asked to provide documentation to substantiate the claim, including the following:
  • original sales receipt detailing the cost, date and description of purchase
  • account showing the charge
  • copy of the written repair estimate (for damage claims)
  • police/fire/insurance claim or loss report
• You may also be asked to send, at your own expense, the damaged item itself.
• Prior to proceeding with any repair services or replacement of the item, you must first obtain the insurer’s approval in order to ensure the eligibility for payment of your claim.
