Shorelines - 2024 Fall - Second Article Hero

With combined assets under administration of $17 billion, creating one of the largest provincially regulated credit unions in Canada, we expect the merged credit union will have the scale to be more sustainable, competitive, and innovative, and be better able to invest in technology, products, and services.

About Beem Credit Union

With a history spanning more than eight decades, Beem Credit Union was formed by the merger of Interior Savings Credit Union and Gulf & Fraser Fishermen’s Credit Union in January 2024. It has grown into a robust co-operative with 54 branches across much of British Columbia, from downtown Vancouver to the Fraser Valley and the Interior, Cariboo, and into Northern BC. Beem has approximately $10 billion in assets under administration, and 160,000 members.

Shared Values and Vision

BlueShore Financial and Beem envision a future where financial wellness can be achieved by all. A future where our members continue to receive trusted and sophisticated financial advice. A future with innovative solutions that make banking easy, all while providing the personalized attention that our members desire. A future where employees are empowered to grow their careers and grow with the credit union. A future where together, our best shines.

What This Means for You

If the merger proceeds, then during an 18-month transition period, BlueShore Financial will operate as “BlueShore Financial, a division of Beem Credit Union.” Over time, clients will benefit from expanded products and services, enhanced digital options, and more support for local businesses and communities.

Expanded Network

Members will gain access to 66 branches across the Sea-to-Sky Corridor, Vancouver, the Interior, Cariboo, and Northern BC, while maintaining local decision-making, friendly and expert advice, and keeping investments within British Columbia.
