BC Training and Education Savings Grant (BCTESG)
A one-time $1,200 RESP grant is available called the BC Training and Education Savings Grant, also known as the BCTESG.
Save early for your child's education
The BCTESG was introduced by the BC Government to encourage families to start saving early for their children’s post-secondary education or training. It is intended to augment the federal RESP program and will provide a one-time grant of $1,200 to eligible children.
Who is eligible?
To be eligible for the BCTESG, a child must meet the following three criteria:
- Have been born in January 2006 or later.
- The child and the parent/guardian must be a resident of British Columbia at the time of application. Examples of acceptable proof of residency include: a valid BC driver's license, a BC ID card with photo, a BC Services Card, or a BC utilities bill (dated within the last 3 months and listing the current address of the custodial parent or legal guardian).
- The child must be a beneficiary of an RESP.
